Dundee the site for insurance broker PIB’s fourth Scottish base

pibInsurance broking business PIB has chosen Dundee as the site for what will be the firm’s fourth outlet north of the border.

Established in London in 2014, fast-growing PIB’s move into the City of Discovery follows start-ups in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Newton Stewart.

The Dundee office will be headed by James Geekie, a former Scotland regional director for Willis GB Ltd who started his career as a commercial underwriter with General Accident.

The company said the optimism surrounding Dundee and its economic revival had drawn it to the city.

Mr Geekie’s first job in his new role will be to identify premises for PIB in Dundee and establish a support team to build the business locally.

He said they firmly believe that PIB “brings something different to the insurance market and look forward to the company becoming an established part of Tayside’s business community”.

Andrew Watson, PIB’s Scottish MD, said: “The company has an ambitious plan for growth and is looking to target a range of different sectors.”
