Dundee and Angus Chamber wins Excellence in Membership Services Award
Dundee & Angus Chamber of Commerce has received the prestigious Excellence in Membership Services at the British Chambers of Commerce 2019 Awards in London.
The Chamber Business Awards, now in its 16th year, is one of the showpiece events in the business calendar, highlighting the role of business in delivering growth and prosperity for the UK and local communities.
DACC now has over 820 members who collectively employ over 67,000 people and we actively recruit new members in order to deepen our reach into the Dundee & Angus business community.
This award recognises the impressive membership growth of the chamber which has welcomed 212 new businesses in the last year including a significant number of micro-sized businesses looking to grow.
The judges praised the Chamber for its strong engagement with its members through a strong and varied events programme, including Business Breakfasts and Customs Declaration training. In 2018 the chamber delivered 70+ events with a combined audience of 3,500+ attendees.
Sarah Howard, chair of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), said: “Connecting businesses is a vital part of Dundee & Angus Chamber’s mission. It works tirelessly with its neighbouring chambers including holding regular tri-chamber events with Fife Chamber of Commerce and Perthshire Chamber.
“Its strong leadership stance for the business community has made it an ambitious, growing and engaged network that represents the voice of local businesses across the UK and globally.”
Alison Henderson, CEO of Dundee & Angus Chamber, added: “This award recognises all of the hard work that the whole team put into delivering a strong suite of services for our members and businesses in the region. From developing business connections, raising members profiles, delivering a strong events programme or supporting businesses who trade internationally, the collective efforts are growing our chamber and local businesses alike. I’m very proud to work with our team and board of directors in such a vibrant organisation.”
