Double Scottish Accountancy Awards delight for Chiene + Tait
Edinburgh-based Chartered Accountants Chiene + Tait has been nominated as a finalist in two categories at this year’s Scottish Accountancy Awards.
The firm has been short-listed as Large Accountancy Firm of the Year and as Tax Team of the Year, a category it has won for the past two years for its work in the entrepreneurial tax sector.
Reaching the final in two categories this year has topped a momentous 12 months for the firm where it has generated 14 per cent increase in turnover along with a rise in partner and director numbers, on the back of 20 internal promotions, as well as an increase overall staff numbers.
This includes significant development of its new Corporate Finance division.
Chiene + Tait’s progress in the awards also follows the development of a series of new client reporting mechanisms to further enhance its high service standards.
The firm also helped secure in excess of £1.5m in Research & Development tax relief claims for its clients; influenced the AGN International network of worldwide accountancy firms to host their annual European meeting in Edinburgh and expanded its support of employees to include mental health first aiders, recognising the importance of mental wellbeing within its workplace.
Managing partner Carol Flockhart said: “We are delighted to be finalists in two categories this year. Winning the Tax Team of the Year accolade for the past two years was something that we are hugely proud of as it acknowledges the amazing work of our Entrepreneurial Tax Team in the business angel and entrepreneur ecosystem.
“Reaching the finalist stage again for two awards this year is a direct reflection of our fantastic team. Their hard work and boundless professionalism are testimony to our industry. Whatever happens at the ceremony I’m hugely proud of everything we have achieved throughout 2017.”
