Digby Brown posts 22% rise in profits to £21.9m
Having recovered a record £160 million in compensation for clients last year, Digby Brown Solicitors has reported revenue increasing by 15% to £46.7m and a 22% increase in profit to £21.9m.
Accounts for 2023/24 show the firm helped people after high-profile incidents including the Stonehaven derailment and the first jury trial win in seven years at the Court of Session.
Its success was also recognised with a Litigation Team of the Year win at the 2024 Scottish Legal Awards.
This meant the firm could then give back in record ways – like helping Spinal Injuries Scotland reach a £1m fundraising milestone at the Winter Dinner Dance, and producing a poignant art exhibition in Dundee for asbestos sufferers.
Digby Brown also opened two new offices in Dundee and Glasgow this year. It is top-ranked for personal injury work in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.
Chief executive Fraser Oliver said: “These annual figures are a testament to the results we obtain on behalf of our clients.
“We now see where we take over a case, we recover on average four times what the client has been offered prior to our involvement.
“Our dedicated and talented staff deliver a top-quality service and the better we serve clients, the better our business operates – this in turn helps us to do even more such as our charity efforts to give back to communities.
“We are the best known legal brand in Scotland and our share of the market grows year on year.
“Our mission is to provide excellence in access to justice, to be recognised as the leading personal injury law practice in Scotland and to be an employer of choice which we are also pleased to see is being achieved via our three-time Platinum accreditation with Investors in People after 93% of Digby Brown staff felt this was a great place to work.”
