Demand for Scots accounting, finance, banking and insurance jobs up
Demand for staff in the accounting, finance, banking and insurance sectors grew by double-digit figures in Scotland over the last year, according to new research.
The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) said demand for accounting and finance jobs rose by 11 per cent over the year to July 2017, while demand for banking and insurance jobs rose by 18 per cent over the same period.
The data, provided by recruitment software company Innovantage also revealed double-digit growth rates (12 per cent) for all professional job roles.
Moya Rylands, regional director at APSCo, said: “These are a strong set of figures for Scotland, with a number of sectors continuing to push growth across the region. The recent PMI figures back up this finding, as employment continues to significantly increase.
“With house prices showing a the biggest increase in the UK, and firms such as Amazon eyeing up the development of a second delivery site in Aberdeen, there are lots of reasons to be very positive about the future employment in the country.”
