CodeBase steps In following CodeClan's liquidation

Edinburgh-based tech start-up incubator CodeBase has announced it is set to acquire training materials and assets from the digital skills academy CodeClan following its recent collapse.

The move ensures that approximately 80 students can continue their training at one of the techscaler’s sites.

In a LinkedIn post, Mark Logan, the Scottish Government’s chief entrepreneur, affirmed that discussions are in progress to restore some form of the digital training entity. He acknowledged the Scottish Government’s commitment to fully funding CodeBase’s endeavour, clarifying that the support is directed at aiding students and not the faltering business. This pledge comes in response to the Scottish tech community’s active efforts to assist affected students, notably a crowdfunding drive spearheaded by student Stuart Ure which raised £22,000.

Despite the uncertainties clouding CodeClan’s future, Mr Logan remains optimistic. He stated: “given the overwhelming response from our collective community in offering support to people affected by CodeClan’s closure, I have no doubt that we’ll succeed.”
