CMS announces three partner promotions in Scotland
Three Scottish-based colleagues at tax and law firm CMS are included among the 48 partner promotions announced across 26 of the global company’s offices.
The promotions went into effect from 1 May, coinciding with the completion of CMS’s three-way UK combination with fellow law firms Nabarro and Olswang.
The newly promoted Scottish partners are Amy Norton and Duncan Turner, who are based in the firm’s Edinburgh office and Glasgow-based Kirsten Partridge.
Real estate specialists Amy Norton and Kirsten Partridge have progressed their careers within the firm since joining Dundas & Wilson, which combined with CMS three years ago. Ms Norton joined Dundas & Wilson as an assistant solicitor in 2007 while Ms Partridge began her career at the firm as a trainee in 2006.
Duncan Turner, who becomes a partner within the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice, spent 10 years at Dickson Minto before moving to CMS in 2015.
CMS Managing Director in Scotland, Caryn Penley, said: “These promotions underline the growth of CMS in Scotland and further demonstrate the opportunities for our Scottish-based colleagues to progress within the firm. Three years from the combination of Dundas & Wilson and CMS, our people continue to benefit from the strength and depth that comes with being part of a global firm focused on the needs of the local market place.”
Penelope Warne, The Senior Partner of CMS UK, added: “Providing opportunities for progression for all our employees is a key priority for our business. The broad range of countries and practice and sector groups in which the promotions have taken place is testament to the strength and confidence we have in our global business. We are delighted to welcome our 48 new partners and congratulate them on this significant achievement.”
