Close Brothers Asset Management (CBAM) has strengthened its senior high-net worth (HNW) investment team in Scotland with the appointment of Christopher Godfrey-Faussett to the role of managing director.

Based in Edinburgh, the firm said Mr Godfrey-Faussett “will enhance the HNW investment management capability of the team, supporting the ongoing expansion of CBAM’s presence in Scotland”.

With twenty-seven years’ experience in financial services, managing investments for private clients, trusts and charities, he joined the Rathbones London office as an investment director in March 2001, before moving to the Edinburgh office in April 2005.

He also managed Rathbones’ charities team in Scotland and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

The appointment follows the recent hires of Andrew Mackintosh-Walker and John Henderson, also as managing directors in Scotland, joining an office with senior financial planners, and adding depth and expertise to service the needs of HNW clients in Scotland.

CBAM now employs more than 65 people in Scotland.

The announcement is the latest in a series of strategic hires by CBAM, which has included the appointment of six HNW investment managers to support the growth of its HNW Bespoke offering.

Martin Andrew, Chief Executive of Close Brothers Asset Management said: “The expansion of our footprint in Scotland is a key part of the strategic growth plans for our high net worth business. Enhancing the breadth of our investment management team with the appointment of select, high quality individuals is central to this. Christopher will be a hugely valuable addition to our team as we expand our proposition and our client base.”
