Chromacity appoints chartered accountant Ian Stevens as non-executive chairman
Edinburgh-based Chromacity has appointed chartered accountant Ian Stevens as non-executive chairman.
Mr Stevens previously worked for KPMG in Oxford and Prague from 1991 to 1997.
He is also an experienced technology industry executive, holding CEO positions at Scottish businesses Touch Bionics, Mpathy Medical and BioFilm.
Previously he spent nine years at Optos plc, initially as CFO in Dunfermline and then as general manager of its North American business.
Chromacity designs manufactures and sells ultrafast lasers for a wide range of industrial and fundamental research applications. With laser products spanning both the infrared and visible spectrums, the company also specialises in developing custom laser technologies for specific end-user applications.
Mr Stevens said: “Ultrafast lasers are driving innovation in many fields of research and across a wide range of industries. Chromacity is well-positioned to disrupt the sector with its high performance, low-cost systems and I am delighted to join the board at this important time in the company’s expansion.”
