Chiene + Tait’s (C+T) Entrepreneurial Tax Team has scooped the Accountancy & Finance Tax Team of the Year award at the Scottish Accountancy Awards.

The Edinburgh-based firm’s team, led by C+T Partner Neil Norman, was recognised for delivering outstanding advisory service for entrepreneurs and business angels across Scotland and the rest of the UK.

The growth of the Entrepreneurial Tax Team has had a considerable impact on C+ T and the firm’s offering to clients. From a standing start in 2012, the team is now comprised of six professionals, with a further eight members of the Entrepreneurial Group – meaning that over 10 per cent of C+T’s staff now have direct involvement in Entrepreneurial Tax work and strategy.

A statement from the firm said: “In the past year, Neil and his colleagues received excellent feedback for their proactive and supportive approach as they continue to go from strength to strength in achieving great results for clients, communicating effectively and seeking to understand the challenges they face.”

Mr Norman said: “Words cannot express how delighted we are to win this award, which recognises the hard work and commitment of our entire team. We consider this recognition a huge honour and cannot be prouder. We strive every day to deliver exceptional client service.”

The team’s performance led to a firm-wide Entrepreneurial Group being established, with representation from each Chiene + Tait department: business support, audit, marketing, VAT and tax.

The company said that its Entrepreneurial Tax Team is recognised internally as one of the “most dynamic parts of the firm”, with excellent opportunities for growth and a reputation amongst its clients for high-quality service.
