Chartered Accountant placed on sex offenders list after Edinburgh night club grope
A Chartered Accountant from Edinburgh has had his career in the financial industry with Lloyds Banking Group left in tatters after being placed on the sex offenders register for groping a woman in a crowded bar.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard how Sebastian Trotter, 31, touched the woman between her legs three times as she ordered drinks in the Lulu nightclub in Edinburgh last August.
Trotter, an assistant manager with Lloyds, had been on an eight-hour drinking session before he carried out the attack, The Times has reported.
At an earlier court appearance, just ten days before Trotter, of the Slateford area of the capital, was due to be married, he admitted sexual assault.
The court had been told that Trotter had been at the club with two friends when he spotted the woman at about 2am.
She had been with her boyfriend when she was touched by Trotter.
After this happened for a third time she then informed staff at the club. Police were called but the accountant had left before officers arrived. He was arrested and charged about three weeks later after being identified from CCTV footage.
Following sentencing he was placed on the register for six months as well as being given a supervision order for the same period.
He was also ordered to pay his victim £500 at Edinburgh sheriff court.
It has been reported that his wife is standing by him.
