Real estate advisor CBRE has announced it has taken full occupation of its new Glasgow office at 177 Bothwell Street in Glasgow’s city centre.

Almost 400 CBRE staff have relocated to the new location including the advisory services team, the property management accounting team and the global workplace solutions team, creating a new major central hub in the West of Scotland. The firm occupies the entire ground floor, extending to 18,000 sq ft.

The building’s outstanding green credentials were a key factor in CBRE selecting it. It produces zero carbon emissions through using fully electric, renewable power. It also features impressive wellness amenities such as a rooftop terrace and running track, a fitness studio and spa-quality changing facilities.

David Smith, managing director of CBRE Scotland, said: “We are thrilled to be fully operational from our fantastic new Glasgow office. We consolidated three offices and brought almost 400 members of staff together into one of the best buildings in the city, allowing us to collaborate with each other more easily.

“Its fantastic green credentials and wellness facilities underpin our commitment to the ESG agenda and are enhancing the workplace experience for our people, helping us to attract and retain the very best talent in the market.”

A number of CBRE teams advised on the relocation and fit-out of the new office including the office advisory and transactions team, the CBRE design hub and the project management, quantity surveying, sustainability, engineering services and global workplace solutions teams.

Alex Noyce, business unit director in the global workspace solutions team, said: “We pulled together a multi-disciplinary team and drew inspiration from our colleagues across the globe.

“The space was designed by expert colleagues in Madrid. Their knowledge and expertise of offices around EMEA and Asia Pac contributed to the design.

“The Amsterdam office and its breakout spaces were extremely influential, and we were also inspired by CBRE offices in Asia Pac when we were deciding how to decorate the boardroom.

“Our team then stepped in and fitted-out the entire office, from seating arrangements to ensuring the process was ESG-compliant, providing best-in-class workplace solutions.”

Jacqui McCulloch, head of business operations, property management UK at CBRE, added: “Working closely with the Glasgow School of Art we launched a competition in which young creatives entered artwork around the themes of Glasgow, ESG and people in different dimensions. We’re now proud to exhibit the best of their work in our meeting rooms.”
