Burness Paull makes senior appointments
Burness Paull has further strengthened its property team with two senior appointments.
Nicky Clemence joins as partner and will work with the firm’s property team in Edinburgh. With more than 15 years specialising in real estate, Nicky’s previous experience includes working with Herbert Smith in London where she qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. Nicky joins from Brodies where she acted for developers and landowners with assets throughout England and Wales. Her specialism lies predominantly in the retail, office and student sectors.
John Sinclair joins as consultant and will specialise in the firm’s growing Central Belt housebuilder portfolio. He brings with him more than 20 years’ experience working in commercial property. Previously a partner at Maclay Murray and Spens where he established and managed its housebuilder unit, John’s extensive sector knowledge covers both national and niche housebuilders, and landowners.
Tamar Tammes, partner and head of property at Burness Paull, said: “Our property practice has achieved significant growth over the last three years. We have a team of highly skilled and specialist lawyers who, among a number of highlights, are advising on projects planned to deliver more than 20,000 new homes for our housebuilder clients. Having completed the first commercial scale private rented sector deal in Scotland, the firm continues to be active in this exciting and growing area of the market.
“Nicky and John join the firm at an exciting time as we continue to build on these successes and they will add considerable strength and expertise in their respective areas.”
Burness Paull’s property practice now includes more than 100 lawyers and support staff, making it the firm’s largest practice area spanning all three locations in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
