Brightwork Group appoints new financial controller

The Brightwork Group, the fast-growing Scottish recruitment specialist, has appointed Helen Jones as its new financial controller.

A graduate of Edinburgh Napier University, Ms Jones, who qualified as a certified chartered accountant in 2007 has extensive experience both in the accountancy profession and in the financial services industry including a spell working in Australia.

Her appointment is in line with Brightwork’s long-term development strategy which has seen employee numbers quadruple since it was established in 2006.

Chief Executive Derek May, and former financial director of the business, said: “Helen’s arrivals marks yet another evolutionary step in the Group’s development as a significant player in the Scottish recruitment sector.

“Our business, which is based in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, now has annual sales well in excess of £30 million and it was clear that that we needed to appoint an able and experienced professional who would reinforce our accountancy and financial reporting functions.

“We are delighted to have recruited her.”

Ms Jones added: “I have found already that Brightwork is a dynamic and energetic business which I am sure will provide me with the professional challenge I seek in my career.

“My role will be to apply a fresh pair of eyes to how the company’s accountancy function operates and to develop its systems and processes to accommodate what we believe will be an exciting, expansionary period.”
