BrewDog to tap into beer tourism market with Old Town hotel
Craft beer brewer and pub chain BrewDog has shared its plans for a beer-themed hotel in Edinburgh’s Old Town.
Branded as a BrewDog Doghouse, the boutique hotel will be in a former school opposite the city council headquarters on Market Street.
Confirming the plans on Twitter, BrewDog founder James Watt tweeted: “An amazing beer hotel & bar in the heart of Scotland’s capital. Expect beer on tap in all the rooms, mini-bars filled with the best beers in the planet & fridges in the shower for shower beers.”
The conversion of the building has been under way for the past five years and was originally intended for another boutique hotel operator.
It is expected to open later this year.
