BrewDog bosses have treated themselves to a pay rise with accounts newly filed at Companies House showing director’s pay up by nearly 57 per cent.

The collective pay for the Ellon-based craft brewer’s directors hit £451,370 for the most recent financial year, while the firm’s highest-paid director, took home £129,080 in the year ended December 31.

BrewDog’s directors include co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie.

Last year the highest-paid director at the company, which is currently in the midst of a £25 million crowdfunding drive, received remuneration of £100,000.

The accounts also show BrewDog saw pre-tax profits rise to £3.65m from £2.36m, over the year when the company’s total employment costs rose to £6.4m from £3.7m.

Last week Brewdog opened its 28th bar and its first in Norway. It comes after launches of Brewdog Stockholm in 2013, Brewdog Gothenburg in 2014 and Brewdog Helsinki earlier this year.

Mr Watt said: “2014 was another epic year for us as we continued our mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as we are.

“With 2014 successfully under our belt, we are all ready to burn up 2015. We have loads of exciting plans and it’s great that our equity punk community is the heart and soul of Brewdog as we continue to grow.”
