Blackadders sees profits rise to £3m
Dundee-based law firm Blackadders has reported increased profits and turnover. The firm produced revenue of £11.7 million in the year to March 2016, an increase of 14.3 per cent. Profits for the year before member remuneration and profit share increased by 14.8 per cent to £3m, a small increase on the previous year. The highest paid partner at the firm took home a profit share of £200,294. Managing partner Johnston Clark told The Courier: “We are delighted that our strategy of sustainable growth across all our service lines has continued to pay off and we are now firmly settled into Glasgow. “We are attracting good lawyers from other firms as well as developing our own talent to address long-term succession planning. “Our profitability is good, allowing us to invest in our people, technology and new service lines. On the question of future mergers, he said: “We are working our way through a long-term strategy to position the firm and its brand at the quality end of the national market in our practice areas. “We are always on the lookout for suitable mergers or lateral hires to help achieve that.”
