BDO Scotland expands tax team with trio of hires
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced three new hires in its Scottish tax practice.
David McComb has been named as a tax director in the team and brings more than two decades of experience advising entrepreneurial companies and supporting their growth. His expertise includes advising on all aspects of corporate tax, including transactions, refinancing, remuneration, share and other incentive arrangements, share disposals, capital allowances and R&D.
Callum Strachan also joins the firm as a tax senior manager, having previously worked at BDO for five years until 2019. Mr Strachan has built a track record in the local market for advising growing businesses with a particular focus on tax advice around transactions.
Nathan Maguire, a specialist in the not-for-profit sector, completes the trio of new hires and has been appointed as tax manager.
Commenting on the new hires, James Paterson, tax partner at BDO, said: “We’re delighted to welcome three new tax professionals to our Scottish tax team who will help to guide our clients in navigating increasingly complex tax rules.
“Our own business has benefitted from our position in the market as the leading firm focused on high-growth businesses; often international, tech-enabled or private equity backed. Because of the resilience of this segment of the economy, we are continuing to expand our team and invest in attracting and retaining the best talent in Scotland, so we have the right people in place to help our clients succeed.”
David McComb added: “It’s a fantastic time to be joining BDO. The firm has a real emphasis on creating a supportive and unified culture that enables the team to do the best job possible for clients while progressing our careers. I’m really looking forward to working with more colleagues and helping clients reach their goals too.”
