BDO LLP appoints Chris Meyrick as partner
Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP has announced the appointment of Chris Meyrick as a partner in Scotland.
Mr Meyrick, who joins BDO from PwC, will focus on the financial services sector and audit, bringing over 20 years’ experience supporting a wide range of businesses ranging from large multinationals to smaller, owner managed businesses, reflecting Scotland’s position as a leading financial centre. He will be based across Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Meyrick said: “Financial services firms have demonstrated considerable resilience over the last two years despite the unprecedented uncertainty brought on by the pandemic and Brexit. The sector makes a significant contribution to the local market and will play a key role in the economic recovery of Scotland post-pandemic.
“I look forward to using my knowledge and experience working with both new and existing clients as they recover from the disruption of the last two years and look ahead to future growth and innovation. This is a really exciting time to be joining BDO, and I am looking forward to getting stuck in to recruiting to grow our team and further develop our financial services practice in Scotland.”
Martin Gill, head of BDO in Scotland, added: “Chris’ appointment reflects an exciting period of growth for BDO across the UK and here in Scotland. Having a dedicated financial services partner with Chris’ experience demonstrates our commitment to the sector, its importance to the local economy and the increasingly complex needs of our clients. It is a pleasure to be able to welcome Chris to the team.”
Over the past year, BDO has appointed and promoted five new financial services partners and now operates as a team of almost 600 people.
The firm recently announced a new joint venture with remediation specialist, Regulatory Finance Solutions (RFS), known as BDO Regulatory Services. The move will see the two firms combine forces to service the financial services remediation market.
Since January, BDO has appointed 24 external and 46 internal individuals as partner across the firm.
