Barclays has named a Leith-based tech company as regional winner for Scotland and Northern Ireland in the start-up category of the bank’s annual Entrepreneur Awards.

Amiqus, founded by CEO Callum Murray, will now be reviewed by a panel of national judges selecting the overall national winner in the start-up category, to be announced at a ceremony in London on 11 October.

The awards are a celebration of Barclays’ most innovative entrepreneurs and businesses as voted for by Barclays colleagues and a panel of regional and national judges from the wider entrepreneurial ecosystem.

In the past six months, Amiqus has attracted 20 early adopting clients to their first anti-money laundering product, Amiqus ID; secured a sales partnership with First Scottish, who handle 60 per cent of legal property searches in Scotland; and integrated with Clio, the world’s largest case management provider.
