Azets promotes 21 Scottish staff as it targets double-digit growth

Staff at Azets' expanding Braehead office
Almost six months after acquiring Glasgow accountancy and wealth management firm Milne Craig, Azets has unveiled ambitious plans to achieve double-digit growth across its Scottish operations in the coming year.
Nearly 100 former Milne Craig staff will move into Azets’ Braehead office, increasing the number of staff based in Braehead to around 320. Azets has invested over than £500,000 to reconfigure the offices by adding significant additional desks, increasing the amount of meeting and collaboration space and by providing R&R facilities, such as a pool table and wellbeing room, to enhance the firm’s agile working model and focus on a healthy work life balance.
The acquisition of Milne Craig has strengthened Azets’ services and expertise across accounting, tax, audit, payroll and in particular wealth management, where Milne Craig had a strong reputation in the West of Scotland. Following the transfer the Braehead office is now the largest office across Azets’ network of 70 UK offices. Azets has over 600 staff working in Scotland.
To support the next phase of growth, Azets is planning to recruit a further 100 staff – from partners to trainees – across the Scottish business during the next year. The business has also just promoted 21 staff across Scotland, including two new directors – Caroline Morgan and Keith Porterfield who are based in the Edinburgh office. Across the UK, Azets has made over 100 mid-year promotions, including a new regional managing partner, one new partner and eight new directors.
Greig McKnight, Azets regional managing director for Scotland said: “The team from Milne Craig has made a significant impact by enhancing and deepening the range of services that we can offer, particularly for Wealth Management where the team is highly regarded.”
He added: “The business is performing well and on track for double digit growth across Scotland this year. To support our growth we are looking to recruit around 100 additional staff at all levels.
“Azets wider business and class-leading flexible working model means that we can provide our staff with outstanding careers in Scotland and further afield.”
