Avison Young closes deal on last unit at Eurocentral industrial hub
Strategic real estate advisor Avison Young has let the last vacant unit at one of Scotland’s industrial & logistics hubs, Eurocentral, on behalf of its client Hermes.
Clipper Logistics is the new occupier of Atlas on Dovecote Road, after subleasing the facility from Hermes. The unit is a modern, standalone high-bay distribution facility, comprising a two-storey office, with six drive-in loading doors and a large surfaced yard. The new location will support Clipper’s strategic expansion plans.
A gateway to the rest of the UK and Europe, Eurocentral is one of Scotland’s largest industrial hubs. The £200 million development off the M8 in North Lanarkshire is home to international businesses including Amazon, Eddie Stobart, XPO, Wincanton and Lidl UK.
Pete Harding, associate director at Avison Young, said: “As Scotland recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic, we are seeing continued growth and demand across the industrial and logistics sector. Our team has been working with Hermes since they vacated Atlas in Q3 2020 and we are pleased to land such a good quality subtenant for the building.”
Andrew McCracken, director at JLL who acquired the building on behalf of Clipper Logistics, added: “Eurocentral is one of Scotland’s most important logistics hubs, so naturally we were extremely pleased to acquire such a high-quality building in this premium location on behalf of our client Clipper Logistics. The location and connectivity are perfect and will support Clipper Logistic in maintaining their position as the UK’s leading logistics partner.”
Deborah Faithfull, estates managers at Hermes, commented: “Avison Young provided us with outstanding service when supporting us with this sublease. We wish Clipper Logistics every success in their new home at Eurocentral.”
