Inverness-based Aurora Energy Services Ltd has appointed contracts and procurement specialist Katie Jordan to its management team as chief commercial officer.

Highly experienced in subcontract and client contract management, Ms Jordan joins Aurora from global energy company TechnipFMC.

At TechnipFMC she was a member of the UK leadership team and held the position of supply chain manager. Prior to working in supply chain, Ms Jordan was contracts lead on a range of major UK North Sea, Mediterranean and North American EPIC projects, and previously she held senior contract and tendering roles at Bibby Offshore.

Aurora CEO Doug Duguid said the appointment strengthened the company’s C-suite and added depth in advance of further international growth.

He said: “Katie brings a great deal of operational experience in the oil and gas sector which will be an important asset as we continue to grow our business in domestic and international markets.

“As we operate in a number of different sectors and end-markets, it is important to manage contractual and commercial risk, and Katie’s lengthy experience in leading large-scale and complex contracting structures will be invaluable.”

Ms Jordan added: “I am delighted to join Aurora which is leading the charge on how energy sector companies can bridge the transition from traditional oil and gas focussed work into multi-faceted renewables projects.

“My role will be contract focussed, providing commercial oversight from supply chain through to the end-clients and ensuring Aurora achieves best position while mitigating risk.

“I was aware of Doug and Michael Buchan’s previous business ventures and am excited to be joining a relatively new enterprise which is hugely ambitious and focussed on international growth.”

Since its launch in 2022 Aurora has quickly become established as one of the UK’s fastest growing energy services providers, bridging traditional hydrocarbon sectors and emerging renewables technologies.

The Scottish National Investment Bank has supported the business with £20 million funding to develop regional training hubs and workshop facilities which will be vital to the green energy supply chain.

In 2024 Aurora added Australian renewables services provider ARC Wind to its portfolio and acquired the Latin American assets of Chilean-based wind energy services business Altitec Blade Services.
