Assetz Capital appoints new Scotland director
Peer-to-peer lender Assetz Capital has announced the promotion of John Hewitt to head of its operations in Scotland, North East of England, Northern Ireland and Isle of Man.
Mr Hewitt – who previously worked at the Bank of Scotland for 25 years, specialising in sales and service – currently manages a team of eight located across the regions from the P2P lender’s office in Edinburgh.
He has been involved in the financing and refinancing of renewable energy projects during his two years at Assetz Capital.
Assetz has also announced the promotion of Mark Standley to a similar role in the southern regions of the UK.
Mr Standley, who works for the firm remotely, is to lead a team of relationship directors with business responsibility for London, southern England, south Wales and the South West.
He has previously served as a branch manager for Handelsbanken in Cardiff/Bridgend in South Wales and was a business development director for Barclays Corporate Banking.
Assetz Capital said that in their new roles the pair will recruit, line manage and develop the relationship directors within their assigned areas, as well as continuing to support their own commercial relationships.
“We have witnessed fantastic levels of growth in the last year, with an increase in retained and new business across the country, underpinned by our national coverage with a local focus,” said Stuart Law, chief executive at Assetz Capital.
“It is vital that we continue to serve each of the key regions with a dedicated team capable of meeting the niche differences and requirements across the country.
“Both John and Mark have demonstrated their value to the business and will prove crucial in accelerating our recruitment efforts so we can continue to provide the best service to our clients nationwide.”
