Aon welcomes nine new graduates to Scottish offices

Aon plc has welcomed its latest cohort of new, diverse early careers talent to its Glasgow and Edinburgh offices with the arrival of nine recent graduates.

The new team members will work across a range of functional areas, including investment, client management, and actuarial consulting, and as part of Aon’s Early Careers Programme will gain meaningful work experience and benefit from opportunities to build professional skills through hands-on learning. All the trainees will be nurtured to become the next generation of leaders.

Aon’s graduate programme, called ‘Launch,’ is focused on cultivating high achievers and preparing them for future leadership roles, ensuring a smooth transition into full-time positions. In addition, Aon also offers an apprenticeship and placement pathway. The apprenticeship programme offers a comprehensive 18-month to two-year experience that blends education with practical work. Placement students, in their third year of university, gain invaluable real-world experience before returning to complete their degrees.

Commenting on the new additions to the Glasgow and Edinburgh office, Mora McCallum, senior consultant at Aon said: “I’d like to welcome Matthew Deighan, Yui Lee, Amy McQuillan, Grace Duncan, Agathe Petillot, Jamie McKay, Cara Boyd, Joel Wintle, and Angus McLeod to Aon. They have all demonstrated great enthusiasm and have embraced the opportunities available to learn and grow.

“Nurturing young professionals and offering them a variety of pathways to gain experience in a professional environment and develop key skills is at the heart of Aon and our continued success.”

Agathe Petillot, one of the newest members of Aon’s Glasgow office, shared her experience: “I applied for the starter role at Aon as I was specifically looking for a job in data analytics. The pensions aspect of the role really appealed to me as it was an area I had never worked in before, and I was keen to learn more.

“Aon is a renowned company with excellent career progression opportunities, and the environment is very welcoming, so securing the role meant a lot to me. I’m especially enjoying learning about pensions, using new technologies, and working with the team, who are all very nice.”

DC investment analyst, Angus McLeod, who has joined the Edinburgh office said: “Upon graduating I was keen to secure a graduate role with a professional organisation that offers endless opportunities for employees to thrive in their careers.

“I was over the moon when I received my offer to join Aon. Securing a position at such a prestigious firm is truly special. My colleagues never hesitate to offer their support, and the structure of the graduate program is helping me develop a strong understanding of how Aon supports its clients.”
