Android Pay now available for Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers

Android PayLloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland customers can now download and use Android Pay.

Android Pay enables users to tap and pay with their Android devices at almost 460,000 payment terminals in UK shops, bringing together payment networks, banks and retailers to help customers pay simply and securely.

As the largest provider of current accounts and number one issuer of new credit cards in the UK, the Edinburgh-based group’s launch of the facility is another key milestone in the adoption of new payment technologies, with millions of customers being offered access to this type of technology for the first time.

Stephen Noakes, managing director retail customer products, Lloyds Banking Group, said: “We’re delighted to offer our customers access to Android Pay. This means that contactless payment capability will be made available to the majority of our customers who want to use their smart phone or device to make payments.”
