And finally… vicious
A rare vinyl record by the Sex Pistols has sold for a record-breaking price at auction.
The record sold for £24,320 at an auction held by Wessex Auction Rooms on 5 July.
The vinyl is a sought-after copy of the God Save the Queen single, BBC News reports.
The song was controversial as it coincided with the late Queen’s Silver Jubilee and lyrics in the song described the monarchy as a “fascist regime”. After public backlash, about 25,000 records were withdrawn from sale.
The record was part of Wessex Auction Rooms specialist sale of Punk & New Wave records and memorabilia.
