The advert says the company is seeking someone with “independent judgement, discretion and outstanding customer service skills” who can “operate with little direction and a lot of self-motivation”.

In 2022, Netflix cut hundreds of jobs as subscriber numbers dwindled. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the average salary of flight attendants in the US at $62,000 a year.

The streaming platform said “The Netflix Aviation department provides exceptional, safe, confidential air transportation” and that the team “helps Netflix reach the world more efficiently and effectively so the company can continue to create joy around the world.”

A Netflix spokesperson told the BBC the company “will not be commenting” regarding its remuneration methodology for flight attendants.
