And finally… strictly come convicted
Convicted fraudster Anna Delvey, whose $200,000 (c. £151,000) scam was dramatised by Netflix as Inventing Anna, is to be a celebrity contestant on a televised US dancing competition.
Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, will wear an ankle monitor during her appearance on Dancing with the Stars, the US version of the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing, according to the BBC.
She was convicted in 2019 of scamming more than $200,000 from banks and luxury hotels while posing as a wealthy socialite in New York City.
Delvey climbed the social ladder by telling others that she had a $60 million (c. £45m) trust fund and planned to launch an arts foundation in her own name.
After her fall from grace, a lengthy exposé was published in New York Magazine and later adapted into the Netflix drama which ironically made her a household name.
She is currently under house arrest and is believed to be unable to travel outside of New York City.
