And finally... picture perfect

A stolen portrait of Winston Churchill that was stolen from a hotel in Canada has been found in Italy.

The “Roaring Lion” picture of the late British prime minister had been given to the Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel in Ottawa by the late Armenian-born Canadian photographer Yousuf Karsh.

The thief has also been arrested, the Guardian reports.

In August 2022, hotel staff noticed the photograph, hanging in a reading room next to the main lobby, had been replaced with a forgery. Now, two years later, Ottawa police revealed that they have, with the help of public tips and forensic work, found the thief and the stolen portrait in Genoa, Italy.

The suspect was arrested in April and charged with theft, forgery, and trafficking in stolen goods.
