And finally… old dog new tricks
BrewDog has begun producing and distributing hand sanitiser at its Aberdeenshire distillery amid shortages.
The brewery said it would be giving away its new “punk sanitiser” for free to those in need.
James Watt, BrewDog’s founder, said: “We are determined to do everything we can to try and help as many people as possible stay safe.”
The sanitiser will be given away to charities, hospitals and communities in need.
BrewDog said it was “working round the clock on producing the first batch” which was due to be delivered to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s Intensive Care Unit yesterday after the unit informed the brewery that it had run out, The Evening Express reports.
Similarly, Dundee-based Verdant Spirits is also moving into hand sanitiser production to help meet the rising demand.
Several supermarkets, chemists and retailers have implemented strict limits on the number of hand sanitising gels shoppers can buy as producers struggle to source enough ingredients and small plastic bottles.
