And finally… noted
A rare 130-year-old banknote is set to be sold at auction for an estimated sale price of £30,000.
The note from the Birmingham branch of the Bank of England will be sold on Thursday.
The note’s face value is £100 and it was signed by Horace G Bowen who was chief cashier between 1893 and 1902, BBC News reports.
The auction will be hosted by Noonans Mayfair, with Andrew Pattison, head of the banknotes department revealing that the note is one of only two surviving notes with a value above £5 signed by Mr Bowen and issued outside of London.
