And finally… I got you babe
Cher has won a legal battle with the widow of her former husband, Sonny Bono, over the royalties of a series of hits by the musical duo.
A judge in the US ruled this week that Cher was entitled to continue receiving royalties from a series of 1960s hits performed and recorded by Sonny and Cher.
Under the terms of Cher and Bono’s divorce settlement, the couple agreed to evenly split the royalties from a catalogue of chart-toppers that were written by Bono. When Bono died in 1998, he passed his share to his heirs.
His widow, Mary Bono, tried to absolve the agreement in 2016, and stopped paying Cher royalties in 2021, The Times reports.
