And finally… home run
The legendary jersey worn by Babe Ruth when he famously “called his shot” during the 1932 World Series has sold for a record-breaking $24.1 million (c. £18.2m).
The sale, conducted by Heritage Auctions, makes the jersey the most expensive piece of sports memorabilia ever auctioned.
The jersey’s value skyrocketed after recent authentication linked it directly to the historic moment where Ruth pointed to the outfield before hitting a home run. Previously, the jersey was only associated with the 1932 World Series in general.
Before this new information, it fetched $940,000 at auction in 2005.
