And finally... gone for a spin

A would-be Ferrari owner wrecked a €440,000 supercar on a test drive while attempting to take it onto Germany’s famously high-speed Autobahn.

The 44-year-old DJ from Bielefeld was trying out the SF90 Stradale – Ferrari’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) – with its owner in the passenger seat.

The vehicle, which can accelerate to 60mph in just 2.5 seconds, never even got close to its top speed of 211 mph.

The test driver lost control of the car while exiting a slip road and hit a barrier so hard that the vehicle is probably a write-off, The Times reports.

Both passengers were unharmed, but appear destined for a battle over liability for the accident.

There are only around 14,000 Ferraris in Germany, including fewer than 500 SF90 Stradales.
