Rishi Sunak’s private heated swimming pool uses so much energy that the energy grid in North Yorkshire had to be upgraded to meet its power demands.
The Guardian was informed that the prime minister will personally pay the costs of the electricity work which is etimated to have cost tens of thousands of pounds.
The news comes as thousands of Brits face increased electricity bills amid the cost of living crisis.
The upgrading of the energy grid comes after the construction of Sunak’s new heated pool, gym and tennis court in the grounds of the manor house he lives in at weekend.
