And finally… gacha grief
A Japanese man has sparked outrage after allegedly withdrawing ¥40 million (£220,000) from his 82-year-old grandmother’s bank account to fund his mobile gacha game addiction.
The man’s younger brother took to social media to seek advice, revealing on X that the family had attempted to resolve the issue privately, but the accused claimed he could not be criminally charged due to their familial ties, MSNews reports.
The brother shared screenshots of the in-game purchases, which amounted to hundreds of thousands of pounds. Despite overwhelming public support, legal experts suggest the matter is likely a civil dispute, leaving the family with limited options.
