And finally… elongated offer
Wikipedia has received a controversial offer from billionaire Elon Musk to rename itself in exchange for $1 billion.
He asked the platform to rename itself to “Dickipedia”. This peculiar offer follows Mr Musk’s criticism of the Wikimedia Foundation’s fundraising methods, questioning why the non-profit seeks significant donations when, as he pointed out, “You can literally fit a copy of the entire text on your phone! So, what’s the money for?”.
Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales had previously asserted that the platform is “not for sale”. Adding a twist, Mr Musk stipulated that the name change would have to last for “one year minimum”, responding to a suggestion that Wikipedia could just revert the name after pocketing the money, The Hill reports.
