Luis Felipe Cespedes laughed after being given the doll by Roberto Fantuzzi, head of Chile’s Manufacturers’ and Exporters’ Association (Asexma).

He was later seen carrying it off the stage while continuing to laugh.

The gift was presented to Cespedes at Asexma’s annual dinner, where the most high-profile guests are traditionally given humorous gifts - none of which were as crass as the doll.

After pictures of the dinner were published in the press, Cespedes faced wide public backlash from members of the public who said his reaction was inappropriate.

Meanwhile, President Michelle Bachelet tweeted that such incidents could not be tolerated.
