And finally… eat fresh
A woman who failed to declare a half-eaten Subway sandwich at customs has been fined more than £1,500.
Jessica Lee, 19, forgot about the chicken and lettuce sandwich she bought in Singapore as she travelled back to Australia.
She was later fined $2,664 AUD (around £1,530) for violating Australia’s strict customs and biosecurity regulations, CBS News reports.
After sharing her story in a viral TikTok video, Subway reached out to Ms Lee and paid her fine — in sandwiches.
The restaurant chain wrote to her: “To say thank you for eating fresh, we’ve uploaded a Sub card with $2,664 dollars just for you. We hope this covers all your chicken and lettuce needs.”
