And finally… Driver pays speeding fine with 22,000 pennies

A man fined for speeding by 9mph has decided to vent his frustration over the ticket by paying the fine entirely in pennies.

Brett Sanders from Texas called the charge “extortion” and said he wanted to make the government work for the money.

Rather than pay the fine and be done with the matter Sanders poured over 20,000 pennies into a pair of buckets and emptied them onto a clerk’s desk.

It has been reported that he actually overpaid by $7.81, but he was happy to let them keep the change.

“I’m just going to go ahead and let them keep that,” he said.
