And finally… picture this
A Picasso painting owned by Sir Sean Connery has sold for £17 million at an auction.
The late actor’s family listed the artwork for sale to raise funds for the Sean Connery Philanthropic Trust, which will share the proceeds between good causes in Scotland and the Bahamas, where he lived for over thirty years.
Sir Sean bought Pablo Picasso’s Buste d’hommedans un cadre a few years before he died in October 2020, The Times reports.
The 1969 painting was sold at Christie’s in Hong Kong this week. The bidding started at £10m and five bids were made before it sold for £17.7m, including the buyer’s premium.
