The 75-year-old woman from the northern Italian city of Pavia was forced to go to court to resolve the situation with her two sons, aged 40 and 42, The Guardian reports.

Judge Simona Caterbi said the men were right, to a degree, that their parents have an “obligation to provide maintenance”, but that it was not justifiable past the age of 40.

The two men have been given a deadline of 18 December 2023 to finally leave their mother’s home.
