And finally... a little shellfish

The Abernethy Pearl has been sold at auction for £93,951, more than 50% above the initial estimate.

The pearl is the largest Scottish freshwater pearl found in living memory and was discovered in the River Tay by William (Bill) Abernethy.

Auctioneers Lyon and Turnbull, external said the pearl had been expected to fetch between £40,000 and £60,000.

It is believed that the pearl could have been growing in its mussel for over 80 years before it was found, BBC News reports.
