And finally… I got 99 billion problems
A family was thrown into shock upon discovering a negative bank account balance of almost $100 billion (£88.16bn).
An image of the unbelievable bank balance was shared by nineteen-year-old Kana Kardong from Seattle, who jokingly remarked “either my bank messed up, or I am going to have to start making financial adjustments”. Her mother was the first to check the college savings account left behind by her late mother where she saw a balance of -$99,999,999,999.22 (-£88.15bn), Newsweek reports.
Ms Kardong explained: “Our family was broken. I have an account where my grandmother left me money for college. My mom was checking on this when she noticed the negative balance in the billions. She was understandably distraught, as were the rest of us.”
Ms Kardon was worried the banking error would affect her entry into university. However, upon contacting the bank, the error was swiftly rectified.
Redditors responding to the post commented: “You may be the poorest person on Earth,” and “overdraft fees are just out of control.”
