And finally... snuff said

A snuff box and medals awarded to a man who served in the Napoleonic Wars under Wellington have been sold for £3,400 at auction.

The engraved, silver snuff box went for £1,900 at Hansons - £900 more than it was expected to fetch.

The medals, offered with copies of the serviceman’s discharge papers, sold for £1,500.

The items belonged to Sgt Maj William Livsey, whose descendants live in Banbury, Oxfordshire. He fought in the Peninsular War more than 200 years ago, BBC News reports.

The total paid, with buyer’s premium, was £4,683.
