Alliance Trust Savings completes executive committee with two new hires

Alliance Trust SavingsDundee-based Alliance Trust Savings has announced two new appointments to its executive team, including Ed Carey as sales director, who had was formerly head of distribution at Cofunds.

ATS has made the hires following its separation from Alliance Trust to be a standalone business and they complete the executive committee at the platform.

Mr Carey, who joins from City Trustees where he was managing director, will now be responsible for the intermediary and partnership channels at ATS.

Previously he spent 12 years at Cofunds, latterly as head of distribution and development.

ATS has also hired Peter Docherty as its risk and compliance officer. He comes from Scottish Friendly, where he is chief risk officer.

Docherty has previously worked at KPMG, Lloyds and had an eight-month stint at the FSA.

Patrick Mill, managing director of Alliance Trust Savings, said: “This is an exciting time for Alliance Trust Savings, operating as a standalone business. We have ambitious plans to grow our assets under administration to around £40bn by 2020 and I am confident that with Ed and Pete’s experience alongside our existing executives, we have the right team in place to achieve this goal.”
