Alliance Trust buys back own shares

Alliance Trust has announced that it has purchased for cancellation 2,375,012 ordinary shares of 2.5p each at a price of 618.5223p per share.
The move means that the total number of voting rights in the company is now 507,807,781.
It follows the firm’s announcement that it will sell its investment arm, Alliance Trust Investments, to Liontrust Asset Management as part of a strategic review aimed at enhancing the firm’s value to shareholders.
The £30 million sale is expected to be completed in early April 2017.
