Afshana Mohammad joins Haines Watts as VAT manager

Haines Watts has enhanced its VAT services for owner managers in Scotland with the addition of Afshana Mohammad as new VAT manager.

Ms Mohammad joins the firm’s VAT team with over 15 years’ worth of experience in both private practice and industry. She will be splitting her time between the accountancy and business advisory firm’s Edinburgh and Newcastle offices.

Managing partner Graeme Miller said: “Working with Shana over the past few weeks has been an absolute pleasure, she is already a fantastic addition to the team here in Scotland. Her extensive experience across all areas of VAT means that she is well placed to expand our service offering and further support the businesses we work with. “



Speaking on her role at Haines Watts, Ms Mohammad added: “It’s great to join such a dynamic team here at Haines Watts. Everyone has extended a warm welcome to me so far.”

As the seventh person to join Haines Watts’ specialist VAT team in the last four years, Shana’s experience and knowledge will further strengthen their expertise. The team, led by Andrew Needham, offer pragmatic, tailored VAT advice for business owners in the UK and across the globe.

Speaking on the growth of the VAT team, Mr Needham said: “I’m delighted to have Shana on board.

“Her appointment is the first step in expanding our regional VAT service, where Shana will help us to provide a local VAT presence in both the Scotland and North East offices. Her experience, ambition and drive will strengthen our client offering.
