Edinburgh-based Aegon UK has announced that its managing director is to leave his current role to take up a new position within the Dutch group.
A statement from Aegon UK said David Macmillan will join the firm’s US business Transamerica in the summer where he will become chief customer experience officer.
An Aegon UK statement said: “David Macmillan has been promoted to a new role within the Aegon group. This summer he will move to Transamerica to be chief customer experience officer and a replacement will be announced in due course.
“The new role is all about helping the company to transform the experience delivered to its 22 million customers.”

He was also previously chief executive at financial risk management specialist Barrie & Hibbert, a role he took on after 16 years at Standard Life, where he was UK retail director.
